SCOM Alerts Severity and Priority
I don’t know why, but this information is hard to find in the docs.
Anyway, the severity and priority for alerts is mapped like this (works the same way in SCE):
Severity
- Critical = 2
- Warning = 1
- Information = 0
Priority
- High = 2
- Medium = 1
- Low = 0

Not documented but blogged about.

In views the Priority for 1 is Medium but it is seen as Normal when you do overrides.
Similary in the Console Severity 2 is shown as Critical but when looking for it with PowerShell it is actually Error.
